Terminologies


Computer

·        The computer is an electronic device, which accepts data, performs mathematical and logical operations according to the instructions given to it, and displays the results of these operations.

·        A computer is a machine that can perform many tasks. Some of the tasks performed on a computer are playing games, writing letters, drawing pictures, playing music, doing calculations, designing vehicles, houses, and rockets, store a list of names, and telephone numbers.

·       Computers are being used in offices, houses, hospitals, and business houses.


Hardware

·       Hardware refers to all physical components of the computer.

·       Some common examples of hardware are the motherboard, processor, LAN card, keyboard, monitor, and mouse.

Input devices

·       Input devices refer to the devices used to give instructions to the computer.

·       Some common examples of input devices are a keyboard, mouse, light pen, microphone, and joystick.

Output device

·       Output device refers to a piece of hardware that gives out the result of the entered input, once it is processed.

·       Some common examples of output devices are printers and monitors.

Touch screen

A touch screen is a monitor screen that allows users to interact with a computer system by touching an area of the display screen.

Windows

·       Windows is an operating system launched by Microsoft.

·       Windows operating system has simplified the task of managing data in a computer.

Libraries

·       Libraries refer to a kind of folder in Windows 7 that allows you to organize your files in one place so they are easy to search and access.

·       Windows 7 provides four default libraries for documents, pictures, music, and videos.
